Introducing

Built

If you've ever choked down a chalky, dry protein bar and thought, "there has to be a better way" — meet Built Bar. These are the protein bars that fitness lovers, busy parents, and anyone with a sweet tooth have been waiting for. Soft, chocolatey, and genuinely delicious, Built Bars deliver 15–19 grams of protein in a package that tastes more like a candy bar than a supplement. With flavors like Cookie Dough Chunk, Peanut Butter Brownie, and dozens more, you'll actually look forward to your next snack. They also offer their fan-favorite Built Puffs — a light, marshmallowy treat packed with protein that's in a category all its own.

What really sets Built Bar apart is that they refused to accept the age-old trade-off between taste and nutrition. At just 130–180 calories per bar, low in sugar, gluten-free, and loaded with high-quality whey protein, Built Bars are the rare product that fits seamlessly into a healthy lifestyle without making you feel like you're sacrificing anything. Whether you toss one in your gym bag, your work bag, or your kids' backpack, Built Bar has you covered — deliciously.

The Rest of the Story

Built

Born Out of Frustration

Built Bar was born from a simple but powerful idea: protein bars shouldn't be a punishment. Co-founder and CEO Nick Greer — a serial entrepreneur from Spanish Fork, Utah — was tired of the options on the market. Every protein bar he tried was either loaded with sugar or tasted like cardboard. So he decided to do something about it.

Nick's entrepreneurial instincts were nothing new. He started selling baseball cards to classmates at age ten, mowed lawns as a teenager, and never really stopped building things. After serving an LDS mission in Romania and earning a degree in Finance from Brigham Young University, he founded One on One Marketing in 2002 — a technology and marketing company that grew into one of the fastest-growing businesses in Utah before being acquired by private equity. He went on to found GreerCo, a holding company with investments spanning real estate, software, and more. Teaching entrepreneurship as an adjunct professor at BYU, Nick shared his passion with over 2,500 students — and then went back to building.

The Mission: Make the Best-Tasting Protein Bar on the Planet

That mission statement isn't marketing fluff — it's the filter every Built Bar product has to pass through. Starting in a small kitchen with basic ingredients and a lot of trial and error, Nick and his team formulated a bar with texture and flavor at the center, without sacrificing the protein profile that health-conscious consumers demand. The original Built Bar spread through word of mouth — not aggressive ad campaigns — because people who tried them genuinely couldn't believe what they were eating was good for them.

Built Bar is headquartered in Spanish Fork, Utah, and is made by a team that Nick describes as real people — parents, athletes, and snack-lovers — who test every batch and listen to every piece of customer feedback. That hands-on, community-first approach has given Built a different kind of credibility in a crowded market.

Giving Back

Generosity is woven into the DNA of Built Bar. Nick and his wife Deborah created the Five12 Foundation, which provides weekend meal backpacks to thousands of children in their community every week — over 50,000 bags of food provided in a single school year. Built Bar has also been a pioneering partner in college athlete NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) deals, investing over $1.25 million into BYU football players and their program.

A Brand That Keeps Growing

What started as a single protein bar has grown into a full product family. Built Puffs — a soft, marshmallowy protein treat — opened up an entirely new texture category and earned a devoted fanbase of their own. The brand continues to release seasonal and limited-edition flavors, always driven by customer feedback and a relentless pursuit of that perfect bite.
