The Rest of the Story
Epic Pickles
How It All Started
It started with an article about a "pickle guy" and an artisan movement in food, and ends with a love for cooking and the joy of seeing people loving your wares. Epic is built on the passion for fabulous food for individuals with a similar drive for great things. Epic Pickles isn't your grocery or deli dill, and it isn't the sad spear that's usually served with your burger. It's the gourmet you want, and the taste you can't live without.
From the Home Kitchen to the Whole Country
It all started local, in the founder's home kitchen. Today, Epic Pickles services the entire country with its fabulous pickled goods, but the heart of the operation has never changed. The company is based in York County, Pennsylvania, in the small towns of Yoe and Dallastown, home to what's known as the Factory Tour Capital of the World.
Meet Rob, the Pickler Extraordinaire
Behind every jar is Rob, the founder, owner, and self-described "pickler extraordinaire." Rob and his small team wash, cut, slice, and stuff fresh produce entirely by hand in their York County shop. No shortcuts, no machines, and as Rob puts it, he's never met a machine that can make a pickle better than they can.
Sourcing with Care
Epic Pickles doesn't grow its own produce. As picklers, not farmers, the team leaves growing to the experts and works with a trusted wholesaler to source the freshest produce available, sourcing locally whenever possible. That commitment to fresh ingredients, paired with genuine hand craftsmanship, is what turns everyday vegetables into something worth getting excited about.
Still Small, Still Handmade
Epic Pickles remains a small company, and that's by design. Every order is packed and shipped by the same close-knit team that started it all, and every jar that leaves the shop reflects the same care and attention as the very first batch made at home.
