The Rest of the Story
Le Sauce & Co.
Born in a Family Kitchen
Le Sauce & Co. did not start in a boardroom or a product development lab. It started at the dinner table. Kyle Kirl, a food industry veteran with a background in sales and marketing at major consumer brands, had a long-standing reputation among family and friends as the person who could make any meal taste exceptional. For years, guests would gather around the table and tell him the same thing: "Kyle, this is delicious. How come you don't bottle this and sell it?"
After years of hearing that same encouragement, Kyle finally listened. He connected with a trusted colleague in the Austin food industry, refined his kitchen-ready recipes into commercially producible formulas, and began building what would become Le Sauce & Co. from the ground up, working early mornings and weekends while keeping his day job. In 2019, the family entered their sauces in H-E-B's prestigious Quest for Texas Best competition and landed in the top 20 out of more than 800 entries. That was the moment everything changed.
All In, Together
It was Kyle's wife Lori who made the call that would take Le Sauce & Co. from a side project to a full-time family business. As she put it, "If you're going to make this work, you need to do this full time. You cannot dabble any more, because we won't know if it is real if we don't go all in." So they went all in.
Le Sauce & Co. is a women-owned, family-run business, with every member of the Kirl family playing a role in bringing it to life. Daughter Maya, who grew up dipping her chicken in her dad's White Wine Lemon Garlic sauce instead of the typical kid-friendly ketchup or ranch, joined the company full-time after graduating from Colorado Christian University. She leads marketing and digital strategy, connecting the brand with home cooks everywhere. Son-in-law Matt Rettinger rounds out the team, handling finance and order fulfillment.
From the Kitchen Table to 4,000 Stores
What started as a treat for dinner guests in a Fair Oaks Ranch kitchen is now stocked on shelves in more than 4,000 stores across the United States, including H-E-B, Walmart, Kroger, Target, and many more. The family has continued to innovate, expanding their lineup beyond their original finishing sauces to include gourmet gravies and new flavors developed in direct response to feedback from real customers.
Their mission has never changed: make cooking at home quick, easy, and genuinely delicious, with ingredients you can actually trust.
