Founded in 1981 by Bernd & Debra Dressler, Messermeister is a leading manufacturer of premium handcrafted chef's knives, kitchen cutlery and cooking tools, the go-to brand for everyone from professional chefs to at-home cooks.
Today, the company is proudly women-owned and operated by second-generation sisters, Chelcea and Kirsten Dressler, who are infusing the brand with a fresh, modern perspective while honoring their German heritage. Based in California, Messermeister (with messer meaning “knife” and meister meaning “master”) now designs and manufactures its knives across the globe, including Germany, Portugal, Italy, Japan, and Asia. Committed to sustainability, craftsmanship, and innovation, Messermeister continues to lead the industry in best-in-class culinary tools that blend tradition with bold, forward-thinking design.
