A Homeschool Project That Became Something More

Pure Good actually started as a homeschool project and was technically founded by their 3 kids. They took a young entrepreneurship course and selected tallow as their product. They had seen their mother use tallow on them since they were babies, and being ranchers meant getting their hands on the fat would not be a problem.

The family set out to do a couple of farmers markets and call it good, but word of mouth spread about people loving their products, and they started getting calls and texts from people wanting more and asking them to make a website and ship. The rest is mostly history.

A True Family Business

From there it turned into a family business, with their three young children helping to pack orders as they learn the ins and outs of running a business. When Pure Good says they are family run, they truly mean it.

Their family lives on their sixth-generation ranch, where they spend their days taking care of the land and cattle, driving tractors, fixing fence, schooling children, and running Pure Good. The tallow comes from cattle that their family takes care of each and every day, plus other local ranches as the company has grown, and they have the utmost respect and awe for being able to truly handcraft their tallow balms from start to finish.
