The Rest of the Story
The Tasty Travelers
Meet Lauren: The Tasty Traveler Behind It All
The Tasty Travelers officially got their start in December of 2018 when Lauren and her family decided to share their love of food and travel with the world. Over time, the blog evolved into a primarily food-focused destination, with Lauren spending most of her days in the kitchen developing, testing, and photographing recipes that her family and community actually want to make.
Lauren has always had a passion for food, cocktails, and travel, and she freely admits to spending most of her time thinking about food, even while traveling. She hits multiple grocery stores in a single day for the joy of it. Her favorite vegetable is the artichoke, and you can spot one right in the center of The Tasty Travelers logo: it came from the very first photo she ever took for the blog, a pressure-cooked artichoke she just had to share. The rest, as she says, is history.
A Family Operation
Lauren is joined in this adventure by her husband Luis, who she affectionately calls Tasty Traveler Number 2, and their three children: Kaleigh, Luis, and Olivia. The kids serve as official taste testers, recipe critics, and biggest supporters. Without them, The Tasty Travelers would not be what it is today. This is a family that eats together, cooks together, and tests recipes together, which means every recipe that makes it onto the blog or into a book has been evaluated by a real family with real opinions.
From Blog to Books
Lauren's deep dive into the Ninja Creami began when the appliance took over her kitchen and her recipe development focus. She built one of the most comprehensive libraries of Ninja Creami recipes available anywhere online, covering traditional ice cream, protein-packed creations, low-calorie frozen yogurts and sorbets, pudding-based recipes, sorbet, milkshakes, and more. The community that formed around her recipes grew into a Reddit community and a Facebook group, both dedicated to Ninja Creami enthusiasts who share creations, troubleshoot techniques, and support one another. The recipe books emerged from that depth of knowledge and community: Lauren had tested enough recipes, received enough feedback, and developed enough expertise to put the best of it between two covers and put it in people's hands.
Guides That Go Beyond Recipes
One of the things that sets The Tasty Travelers apart from other Ninja Creami recipe sources is the depth of practical how-to guidance Lauren provides. Her Ninja Creami Guides section covers topics like ideal freezer temperature, when to use the re-spin versus process-again functions, how to eliminate ice from the outside of the container, how to keep leftovers soft after refreezing, using powdered peanut butter for richer flavor, the secret ingredient for coffee ice cream, and dozens of other technique details that make the difference between good results and great ones. That level of teaching is baked into the books as well.
